Fencing Requirements for City of Toledo Residents Fencing in residential zoned districts are permitted on all property lines. A building permit is required. Two copies of site drawing required with permit application. If a contractor is doing the work, he/she must be licensed with the City of Toledo as a Home Improvement and Remodeling Contractor and he/she will secure the permit. Maximum fence heights from ground level to highest point
of fence: Side yard: 4 feet
Rear yard: 7 feet
(The rear yard on a corner lot shall be at the opposite of the front yard
